An important part of this is to give you as a user as much information as possible about how we use your personal information. What is meant by Local Storage of Data, Cookies and Other Similar Techniques?
Local data storage means that different types of data are stored locally on your device (e.g. computer, mobile phone or tablet) via your web browser. In this document, the term ”local data storage” is used as a collective name for cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and other similar technology.
Why Does Goodones Use Local Data Storage On Its Websites?
We use local data storage for a number of purposes. For example, to be able to deliver our services to you; provide you with relevant, personalized content when you visit our websites; measure and analyze the traffic on our websites; improve our services; and for targeted ads. Which Other Subcontractors Use Local Data Storage On Goodone’s Websites?
We use local data storage and allow our subcontractors to use local data storage when delivering services to us. Such subcontractors must comply with personal data assistant agreements and may not use data stored for purposes other than to provide services that we have ordered.
We also offer third parties an opportunity for local storage of data on your device when you visit our services. In Schibsted’s Data Policy for Advertisers, we have developed strict guidelines and rules for how third parties may collect and use data regarding our users. These guidelines state that the data may only be used for clearly defined purposes; to analyze and measure the impact of advertising and within the count of ad impressions, clicks, and conversions on current ad campaigns.
Applications For Local Data Storage
a) To deliver and adapt the services to your use
Some local storage of data is necessary for you to be able to use our services. This applies, for example, information about your settings, which shows us how the services should be presented in your browser.
Local storage of data is also used so that we can adapt our services as well as possible for your use, for example to store what settings you want when playing audio, to store information about which video quality suits your browser and internet speed and for special functions such as the ability to save filled words in a crossword puzzle
b) To analyze and improve the services
We use various measurement tools that give us statistics and analyzes regarding our services. The tools allow us to recognize your browser over time and thus get information if you have visited the website before and how often. These tools also give us the opportunity to get an overview of how many unique users we have and how they use our services.
Furthermore, we use information we have collected and analyzed to develop and improve our services and other services in Schibsted Media Group, for example by finding out which services generate a lot of traffic or to check if a service works properly.
c) Our advertising
We use local storage of data in connection with GoodOnes and Schibsted Media Group’s advertising. By doing so, we can get information about how often you have seen an ad or a certain type of ad and how long it has been since you saw it. We also use local data storage to build segments and audiences for marketing purposes and to target ads. In connection with GoodOnes and Schibsted Media Group’s advertising, local storage of data that we have placed when you have visited other websites that we advertise on, as well as locally stored data that is placed there by other actors, are also used. By doing this, we can, for example, get information that you have visited a certain website before you visited our websites and apps and then direct advertising to you based on that information. For example, we may show you travel ads if you have recently visited an airline’s website. The information we receive through local storage of data does not contain directly identifiable data. We receive information about which websites you have visited, but not information about who you are.
How Can I Manage Locally Stored Data?
In the browser settings, you will normally find a list of all cookies that are stored to give you an overview and, if you want, delete unwanted cookies. Here you normally can specify whether you accept the storage of cookies from websites you visit, from third parties who are connected to the websites and in some cases if you want to receive a message every time a new cookie is stored. Instructions on how to do this in different types of browsers are given below. Your browser normally stores cookies in a specific folder in your hard drive, so you can also examine the content in more detail.

Note: If you choose to disable cookies, it may prevent our websites from functioning as intended. Among other things, you may need to log in every time you visit us and you will be able to receive random ads instead of ads that are relevant to you.
